LOG VILLAGE
Grab a trolley ride down to the Log Village and step back in time. As you stroll through an 1856 village with a the Kossuth House, the Cassidy House, the one room Oak Ridge School, a Sawn-Log Barn, Public House and an outhouse. All of the villagers are dressed in period costume, cooking meals over an open fire, blacksmith demonstrations, candle dipping, children playing games and making you feel welcome. The villagers are members of the #1846 Explorer Post. You can also check out a medicine man show for all your aches and pains.

How can I volunteer in the Log Village?

The Log Village is looking for volunteers to help portray life on the Iowa prairie in the 1860’s during the Old Threshers Reunion. Adult volunteers will be working with youth members of our Explore Post 1846. Needed skills for adults would include, wood working, quilting, cooking, soap making, candle dipping, and livestock care on a daily basis during the Old Threshers Reunion. If interested in volunteering in the Log Village, please contact the Old Threshers office at 319-385-8937 or email to info@oldthreshers.org.
