The Midwest Central Railroad's North Pole Express will rumble its way through Mt Pleasant, Iowa, on its annual imaginary voyage to the North Pole. In the spirit of the season, Midwest Central Railroad extends a special invitation to you and your family to participate on this annual steam powered (by MCRR's Shay, #9) Christmas train as it carries its passengers on an imaginary Christmas journey to the North Pole. This unique holiday train made trips against a backdrop of early winter in eastern Iowa.

The holiday season is a time when families share time together and a time when traditions begin. What fun it would be to actually experience the essence of a Christmas Steam Train on a magical journey. Children and adults together will experience a spirited holiday adventure. Our guests ride along in one of our coaches decorated for the holidays, bound for an imaginary trip to the North Pole, and feel the anticipation of the meeting the grand elf of them all...

We are privileged to have a detail of highly trained and eager elves from the North Pole Elf University, who accompany the passengers on this wonderful journey and, be assured, they will make the trip a lively one! As the Shay powered train rumbles into the station at the North Pole, midst a flurry of snowflakes and hissing steam, our own Railroad Santa, along with his special elves, will greet his guests and at this time, each guest will be presented with a special Christmas ornament to commemorate this memorable journey.
